Consume wine moderately, its abuse and misuse can

have serious health consequenc

The association of two familles - Pierre & Jean-

Michel MÉGÉ and Philippe PONS - created the

Domaine de la Reynardière.

Position

Their vineyards lie 20 kilometers north of

Béziers, in thé foothills of thé Southem

Cévennes ("Les Soubergues"), within the

Faugères and Coteaux du Languedoc

appellations d'origine contrôlées (AOC) and the

delimited areas for Vins de Pays des Coteaux

de Murviel and Vins de Pays des Côtes de

Thongue.

Covering 75 hectares of vines, spread over the

parishes of Autignac, Laurens, Magalas,

Murviel-les-Béziers and Saint-Génies de

Fontedit, the Domaine de la Reynardière

produces around 4,000 hectolitres annually.

Geology

As a resuit of extensive folding and érosion, thé

geology of the région is complex: from thé arid

Schist which predominates in the Faugères

area, passing through Miocène Limestone and

Pliocène Gravels to the Quaternary Terraces

(to which Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Ugni

Blanc are particularly suited). TheDomaine de

la Reynardière represents thé full geological

range of the Béziers hinterland.

Grape Varieties

Aware of the potential of their "Terroir

", the Domaine de la Reynardière has,

for the last 30 years, followed a

policy of replanting with good quality

grape varieties.

The Mediterranean varieties are those most

obviousiy at home here:

* Syrah -for its deep purple colour and

intense aromas of blackcurrant and spices

* Mourvèdre -for its fine tannins

* Grenache -for its rich, peppery fruit

* Carignan — Mediterranean from the

tops of its tendrils to the tips of its roots

* Cinsault -for its soft, refreshing fruit

* Ugni Blanc -for its lively congeniality

* Muscat —for its unmistakable perfume

and flavours

Beside them stand varieties that are famous

throughout the worid:

• Cabernet Sauvignon - wine grape

par excellence, rich, with a powerful and

complex nose

• Merlot -for its rounded structure,

and full, fruity flavours of'great length

• Chardonnay —for its successfui

adaptation to thé climate of the Languedoc

• Sauvignon -for its firm, zesty fruit

Wine-making techniques

From de-stalking to the "macération

carbonique " (whole grape maceration) of the

Faugères, great care istaken to preserve quality.

Modern refrigeration methods enable the

control of fermentation températures,

which, together with the extraction of a

maximum of free-run juice and careful pressing

techniques, favour the

production of excellent white and rosé wines.

By reincorporating thé juice filtered out of the

first sédiment, we maintain a maximum of fruit

flavours in our wines.

Flexible Packaging Solutions

The Domaine de la Reynardière has invested in

bottling equipment that enables it to respond to

the needs of all market outlets. We have our

own chain, bottling in batches of about 8,000

bottles, which are stocked ready for labelling.

We use self-adhesive labels, which are applied

using a machine that incorporâtes thermal

printing equipment,

permitting a high degree of personalisation of

our products.
